The DAX 40 experienced a decline for the second consecutive session on Tuesday, decreasing approximately 0.4% to approach 26,200, a threshold not reached since August 6. Increasing oil prices and elevated bond yields, influenced by intensifying tensions between the US and Iran, exerted pressure on the market, compounded by renewed weakness in technology stocks.

The expiration of the 60-day US-Iran interim agreement on Monday, lacking any significant advancement, has contributed to heightened geopolitical uncertainty. Washington has declined to extend negotiations, while Iran has cautioned of a more severe reaction if advancements are not achieved in the upcoming weeks, heightening apprehensions regarding potential disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and global energy supplies.

Technology and industrial stocks experienced significant declines, with Infineon Technologies down by 2.5%, Siemens Energy by 2.2%, Siemens by 0.9%, and Hochtief by 0.6%, positioning them as some of the poorest performers in the market. Conversely, BASF experienced a decline of 0.9%, while Deutsche Post and Deutsche Telekom recorded gains of 0.9% and 0.8%, respectively.
