The DAX Futures is trading at 13,293.30 with a loss of -1.16% percent or -156.30 point.The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,517.80 with a loss of -0.69% percent or -52.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 6,058.50 up with +1.48% percent or +88.50 point.  The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,756.00  with a loss of -1.05% percent or -40.00 point.


It was a bullish day for the European majors. The CAC40 and DAX30 rose by 1.06% and by 1.03% respectively, with the EuroStoxx600 gaining 0.93%.

Reversing losses from earlier in the week, support came from optimism over the U.S – China phase 1 trade agreement.

Over the holidays, U.S President Trump had announced that the phase 1 agreement would be signed on 15th January.

The PBoC gave the markets an extra boost, announcing that it would cut the Reserve Requirement Ratio by 50 basis points.


For the day Germany’s DAX closed at 13,385.93  up with +1.03% percent or +136.92  point. the FTSE 100 closed at 7,604.30 up with +0.82% percent or +61.86  point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 6,041.50  up with 1.06% percent or +63.45  point.


For the day the Dow is trading at 28,868.80  up with +1.16% percent or +330.36 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 3,257.85 up with +0.84% percent or +27.07 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 9,092.19 up with +1.33% percent or +119.58  point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 23,656.62 with a loss of –0.76% percent or -181.10 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,477.51 with a loss of –0.23% percent or –66.01 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,083.79  with a loss of –0.046% percent or –1.41   point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 41,466.03 with a loss of –0.39% percent or –160.61 point at 12:15 PM.
