On Wednesday, Frankfurt’s DAX 40 experienced a 0.3% increase, approaching 25,490, effectively breaking a two-session streak of losses. This uptick was attributed to the easing of oil prices and a decline in global bond yields, which provided a measure of relief. This occurred notwithstanding the persistent tensions in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, attention shifted to the Federal Reserve’s policy decision later in the day, with a 25-basis-point rate increase already fully anticipated. The technology sector served as the primary source of support, in conjunction with banks, utilities, and industrials, counterbalancing the weaknesses observed in software, automotive, and retail sectors.

Shares of companies benefiting from the AI boom exhibited the most significant increases, with Hochtief, Infineon Technologies, and Siemens Energy leading the way, rising between 1.7% and 3.2%. Commerzbank and Deutsche Bank experienced increases of 1.8% and 1.4%, respectively. On the downside, the leading decliners included SAP (-1.7%), Zalando (-1.2%), Volkswagen (-1.1%), and Mercedes-Benz Group (-0.7%).
