The DAX Futures is trading at 13,983.00 with a loss of -0.74% percent -101.50 point. The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,517.00 with a loss of -0.79% percent or -60.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 6,408.80 with a loss of -0.65% percent or -41.70 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,710.00 with a loss of -0.59% percent or -22.00 point.
TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS
The yield on the German 10-year Bund rose to above 0.8%, the highest since 2015, as markets price in a 70 bps of ECB rate increases by year-end, compared with 65bps last week ahead of the ECB policy meeting on Thursday. The ECB’s March meeting minutes came in more hawkish than anticipated, with officials signaling plans to end its asset purchase programme in Q3 and a large number wanted an immediate normalization of policy due to the current high level of inflation and its persistence after flash estimates pointed to another record inflation of 7.5% in March. Elsewhere, President Emmanuel Macron clinch the top spot in the French presidential election on Sunday but far-right leader Marine Le Pen’s close second-place finish sets up a competitive runoff election on April 24.
