TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Major bourses in Europe were lower during early trading on Wednesday, with the DAX 30 falling near 1.5% as investors await the outcome from the US presidential election as ballots continued to be counted and it will take some time to know final results. So far, results showed a tight race between President Trump and Democrat Biden although Biden is leading with 225 electoral votes while Trump picked up 213 votes and won Florida. On the macro front, services PMI for Spain came above forecasts and figures for Italy and final estimates for France, Germany and the Euro Area will also be in the spotlight. On the coronavirus front, Italy recorded its highest death toll in nearly six months on Tuesday and Hungary announced a new state of emergency.
