DAX Futures Morning Update on 07 October 2019

The DAX Futures is trading at 11,968.00 with a loss of -0.13% percent or -15.50 point.The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,104.80 with a loss of  -0.16% percent or -11.70 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,465.50  with a loss of -0.37% percent or -20.50 point.  The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,424.00  with a loss of -0.12% percent or -4.00 point.


It was another bearish day for the auto sector, with Daimler (-0.38%), BMW (-0.37%), and Volkswagen (-0.12%) amongst the worst performers. Continental bucked the trend on Friday, gaining 0.31% after seeing significantly heavier losses earlier in the week.

Negative sentiment towards the German and global economy weighed on the day, with uncertainty ahead of U.S – China trade talks also weighing. With Trump also talking of tariffs on EU goods, there was unlikely to be any upside for autos in the week.

It was also a mixed day for Bank stocks, with Deutsche Bank gaining 0.35%, while Commerzbank slid by 2.28%.


For the day Germany’s DAX closed at 11,975.48 with a loss of  -0.31% percent or –37.33  point.the FTSE 100 closed at 7,138.11 with a loss of –0.24% percent or –17.27 point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 5,468.12 with a loss of –0.37% percent or –20.20 point.


For the day the Dow is trading at 26,573.72 up with +1.42% percent or +372.68  point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,952.01  up with +1.42% percent or +41.38 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,982.47 up with +1.40% percent or +110.21 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,375.25 with a loss of –0.16% percent or  –34.95 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 25,821.03 with a loss of –1.11% percent or  –289.28 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,905.19 with a loss of –0.92% percent or –26.98 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,778.07 up with 0.28% percent or +104.76  point at 12:15 PM.
