DAX Futures Morning Update on 25 September 2019

The DAX Futures is trading at 12,222.50  with a loss of  -0.15% percent or -18.50 point.The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,212.20  with a loss of -0.56% percent or -40.30 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,595.20  with a loss of -0.43% percent or -24.30 point.  The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,500.00 with a loss of -0.06% percent or -2.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The European majors struggled once more on Tuesday, with the DAX30 leading the way, falling by 0.29%. It was a more modest 0.04% loss for the CAC40, while the EuroStoxx600 eked out a 0.01% gain.

Gains from most of the day reversed late in the European session as the markets considered economic data and chatter from the UN General Assembly.

On the geopolitical front, news had hit the wires that trade talks would resume in 2-weeks. Following last Friday’s comments, the news had supported the majors early on.

From the General Assembly, however, Trump’s address spooked the markets by stating that he wouldn’t accept a bad deal with China. The U.S president also attacked China for its unfair trade practices. Following last Friday’s comments, Trump also reiterated that he was in no hurry to bring an end to the extended trade war.

For the day Germany’s DAX closed at 12,254.12 with a loss of -0.43% percent or -50.98 point.the FTSE 100 closed at 7,257.02 with a loss of –0.47% percent or –34.41 point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 5,590.31 with a loss of –0.68% percent or  –38.01 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow is trading at 26,807.77 with a loss of  –0.53% percent or –142.22  point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,966.60  with a loss of –0.84% percent or –25.18 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,993.63  with a loss of –1.46% percent or  -118.83 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,020.15 with a loss of –0.36% percent or –78.69 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 25,950.82 with a loss of –1.26% percent or –330.18 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,955.43 with a loss of –1.00% percent or –29.91 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 38,762.49 with a loss of  –0.86% percent or –334.65 point at 12:15 PM.
