German stocks began the day with a lacklustre performance on Tuesday morning but showed a notable recovery, moving into positive territory shortly after noon. This shift in sentiment was bolstered by the ongoing decline in oil prices, coupled with the potential reopening of the Strait of Hormuz by Iran. Investors are poised for U.S. President Donald Trump’s address at the United Nations General Assembly later today. U.N. Ambassador Mike Waltz informed that Trump’s statements would underscore the peace agreements the president has facilitated, U.S. initiatives in the Western Hemisphere, and advancements on his 20-point peace plan in Gaza. It will also address the “importance of ensuring that Iran never has a nuclear weapon,” Waltz stated.
As the Saudi-Houthi conflict continues unabated, Trump is anticipated to convene with Gulf leaders affected by the hostilities with Iran to deliberate on the ongoing situation and concentrate on formulating a postwar strategy.
