Despite the prevailing uncertainty regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, German equities experienced an upward movement on Monday morning. Elevated crude oil prices constrained the market’s potential for upward movement. Investors are anticipating U.S. inflation data set to be released later this week, seeking insights into the Federal Reserve’s potential interest rate adjustments. Brent crude futures rose to $84.97 a barrel before retracting to approximately $87.50, reflecting an increase of 1.2% from the prior close.

The DAX increased by 51.28 points, reflecting a rise of 0.2%, reaching a level of 26,406.63 shortly before noon. Iran has issued a warning regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, stipulating that the United States must fulfilll a set of conditions. This development has heightened concerns that U.S. President Donald Trump might reconsider the military option he had recently put on hold. In a recent interview, Trump indicated a willingness to exercise patience, suggesting that he is prepared to let economic pressures on Iran intensify instead of opting for military escalation.

  • Infineon Technologies experienced an increase of nearly 4%. Siemens Energy experienced a rise of 3%, while Qiagen saw an increase of 2.5%.
  • RWE, Heidelberg Materials, Adidas, Allianz, Hochtief, Vonovia, Scout24, and MTU Aero Engines experienced gains ranging from 0.5% to 1.5%.
  • Brenntag, Beiersdorf, Deutsche Telekom, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Siemens Healthineers experienced declines in the range of 1% to 2%.
