German stocks are experiencing a decline on Friday, trading in negative territory as market participants remain cautious due to concerns regarding a potential downgrade of France’s sovereign rating. Positive sentiment regarding a potential interest rate reduction by the Federal Reserve next week is contributing to a cap on the market’s downside risks.

SAP is experiencing an increase of approximately 0.25%, showing signs of recovery from earlier declines. The company has disclosed the successful completion of its acquisition of SmartRecruiters, a prominent provider of enterprise-grade talent acquisition software. Data indicated that Germany’s consumer price inflation rose, as initially estimated in August, reaching the highest level in five months. The consumer price index increased by 2.2% year-over-year, building on a 2% rise observed in each of the preceding two months. This aligns with the preliminary data released on August 29.

Core inflation, excluding food and energy prices, held steady at 2.7%, in line with estimates. The harmonized index of consumer prices, or HICP, experienced a year-on-year increase of 2.1%, building on the 1.8% rise observed in July, thereby validating the previous estimate. On a month-on-month basis, the HICP increased by 0.1% following a 0.4% rise in July.
