The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 6,487.50 with a loss of -0.95% percent or –62.50 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,802.00 with a loss of -0.26% percent or –10.00 point.
TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS
The Nikkei 225 Index dropped 0.94% to close at 26,094 while the broader Topix Index fell 0.72% to 1,895 on Thursday, sliding for the second straight session, with all sectors participating in the decline. Japanese shares also tracked losses on Wall Street overnight as investors fretted about the end of China’s zero-Covid policy that could lead to a rise in cases around the world. Consumer-related stocks led the selloff, with sharp losses from Japan Tobacco (-5.9%), Oriental Land (-1%) and Shiseido Company (-2.2%). Other index heavyweights also declined, including SoftBank Group (-1.6%), Mitsubishi UFJ (-1.8%), Fast Retailing (-3%), Nippon Yusen (-2.5%) and Inpex Corp (-3.7%). The benchmark indexes are on track to end the year lower as a historic tightening campaign by major central banks and global macroeconomic headwinds weighed on equities
