DAX Futures Update : 26 August. 2022

The DAX Futures is trading at 13,313.0 up with -0.05% percent -7.0 point.The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,505.80 with  -0.03% percent or -2.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 6,417.50 with +0.49% percent or +31.50 point.The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,688.00 with a loss of -0.19% percent or -7.00 point.

 

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The German economy advanced 0.1% on quarter in Q2 2022, compared to preliminary estimates of a flat reading, boosted by by household and government expenditure. Household spending went up 0.6%, as consumers took the opportunity to travel and go out more after nearly all Covid-19 restrictions had been lifted, and despite large price increases and the energy crisis. Government spending went up 2.3% and investment in machinery and equipment 1.1%. On the other hand, gross fixed capital formation in construction sank 3.4% after the unusually good and mild winter. Despite the interruptions in supply chains worldwide, exports of goods and services were up by 0.3% but imports surged at a much faster 1.6%. On the production side, the lifting of the Covid-19 restrictions led to rises in most service branches while there were declines in manufacturing and construction. The German GDP has now returned to the pre-crisis level of Q4 2019 but the outlook is challenging amid an ongoing energy crisis.

For the day the Dow is trading at 32,909.59with a loss of –0.47%percent or -154.02point. The S&P 500 is trading at 4,128.73with a loss of –0.22%percent or -9.26 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 12,381.30with a loss of –0.0022%percent or -0.27 point.

 

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 28,327.50 with a loss of –0.44%percent or ?125.25 point.
