TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

German 10-year bond yields hovered around -0.11%, not far from a near two-year high of -0.096% hit last week. The yields posted the biggest one-week rise since February, amid rising inflationary pressure and prospects of a strong economic recovery. However, economic data released on Monday showing China’s factory activity growth slowed in April and retail sales missed expectations weighed on sentiment, as well as concerns about the renewed spread of coronavirus in Taiwan and Singapore.
