DAX Futures Morning Update on 22 October 2019

The DAX Futures is trading at 12,763.80 up with +0.12% percent or +15.00 point.The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,144.00  with a loss of -0.01% percent or -0.50 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,649.50 up with +0.09% percent or +5.00 point.  The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,590.00 up with 0.00% percent or 0.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

It was a bullish day for the auto sector. Continental led the day rising by 1.88%, with Daimler gaining 1.50%. Volkswagen and BMW saw more modest gains of 0.71% and 0.55% respectively.

Bank stocks were also on the move with Commerzbank and Deutsche Bank rallying by 5.32% and by 2.46% respectively.

Leading the way on the day, however, was Wirecard, which rallied by 5.59% on news of appointing KPMG to provide an independent audit. Wirecard had hit the news wires for the wrong reasons recently over its accounting practices.

From the CAC, it was also a positive day for the banks. Credit Agricole and Soc Gen rose by 2.12% and by 1.98% respectively. BNP Paribas wasn’t far behind, gaining 1.75%. For the autos, it was a less eventful day, with Peugeot and Renault rising by 0.34% and by 1.08% respectively

For the day Germany’s DAX closed at 12,677.78 up with +0.35% percent or +44.18  point.the FTSE 100 closed at 7,186.52 up with +0.50% percent or +35.95 point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 5,634.99 with  a loss of –0.022% percent or –1.25 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow is trading at 26,827.64 up with +0.21% percent or +57.44  point. The S&P 500 is trading at 3,006.72 up with +0.69% percent or +20.52 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 8,162.99 up with +0.91% percent or +73.44 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,548.90 up with +0.25% percent or +56.22 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 26,799.53 up with +0.28% percent or +73.85 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,953.82 up with +0.48% percent or +14.20  point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 39,299.48 up with +0.0028% percent or +1.10 point at 12:15 PM.
