DAX Futures Morning Update on 24 July 2019

The DAX Futures is trading at 12,490.50 with a loss of -0.19% percent or -24.40 point.The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,473.50 with a loss of -0.41% percent or -31.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,625.64  up with +0.13% percent or +7.49 point.  The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,524.00  with a loss of -0.34% percent or -12.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Investors will be eyeing the latest ECB meeting, which is likely to remain dovish as Draghi and Co. signal fresh stimulus measures is on the way. Data in the Eurozone has continued to disappoint, most notably that of Germany, next week’s PMIs should give us a clue as to whether the slowing momentum is set to continue. Sticking with the ECB, the question will be whether the central bank alludes to a package of stimulus measures of simply a rate cut. Given that the Draghi typically overdelivers on the dovish side, the base case is for a package of easing measures to be signaled for a move in September. Although, keep in mind that money markets are pricing in a 50/50 chance of a rate cut as soon as July. Elsewhere, the DAX will also take its cue from several earnings with BASF, Volkswagen and Deutsche Bank to report.

For the day Germany’s DAX closed at 12,500.30 up with +0.08% percent or +8.93 point.the FTSE 100 closed at 7,540.84   with a loss of -0.21% percent or -16.02 point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 5,623.11 up with +0.088% percent or +4.96 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow is trading at 27,349.19   up with +0.65% percent or +177.29 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 3,005.47 up with +0.68% percent or +20.44  point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 8,251.40 up  with +0.58% percent or +47.27 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,709.57   up with +0.41% percent or +88.69 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,533.11  up with +0.23% percent or +66.63 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,923.28 up with +0.80% percent or +23.33 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,802.23   with a loss of -0.48% percent or -180.51 point at 12:15 PM.
