TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS
London stocks ended slightly submerged on Monday after ending last week at a high water mark not seen in four months, with pressure coming from a rise in the pound, although the second-tier index put in a solid advance.
Trading volumes were down as Wall Street was closed for the Presidents’ Day holiday, but the news-flow from across the Atlantic still provided a small hand as President Trump reported trade talks in Beijing had been “very productive”.
