DAX Futures Morning Update on 28 June

The DAX Futures is trading at 12,348.00 up with +0.18% percent or  +22.00 point . The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at  7,551.00 up with +0.07% percent or +5.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,336.46 up  with  +0.17% percent or +9.26 point . The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures is trading at 3,391.00 up with +0.18% percent or +6.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The DAX index has reversed directions on Thursday and is in red territory. In Tuesday’s North American session, the DAX is at 12,268, up 0.17% on the day. In economic news, there are no major eurozone events. On Thursday, EU leaders meet for a two-day summit in Brussels. Germany will release GfK Consumer Confidenceand Preliminary CPI.

European equity markets remain under pressure, as investors cast a nervous eye on the escalating trade tariff between the U.S and its major trading partners. The DAX has lost 2.0% so far this week, and there is more downside if trade tensions worsen. On Friday, the EU slapped retaliatory tariffs of some 25% on $3.3 billion of U.S goods. This move was in response to U.S tariffs on EU steel and aluminum imports. President Trump didn’t blink and has threatened to impose 20% tariffs on EU vehicles. This threat sent automobile stocks on the DAX sharply lower on this week, as Daimler (DE:DAIGn) and BMW (DE:BMWG) recorded steep declines. BMW exports cars from the U.S to China and Europe, so the trade battles could have a negative impact on the company’s revenues.

For the day Germany’s DAX closed at 12,359.38 up with  +0.062% percent or +7.61 point. the FTSE 100 closed at 7,617.16 with a loss of  -0.059%  percent or -4.53 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 5,335.27 up with +0.15% percent or +8.07 point.

For the day the Dow is trading at 24,117.59 with a loss of -0.68% percent or  -165.52 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,699.63 with a loss of -0.86% percent or -23.43 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,445.08  with a loss of -1.54% percent or  -116.54 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,270.39 with a loss of – 0.0062% percent or -1.38 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,468.11 up with + 0.39% percent or +111.51 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,786.90 with a loss of  -0.93% percent or  -26.28 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 35,139.80 with  a loss of -0.22% percent or  -77.31 point at 12:15 PM.
