German stocks experienced an uptick on Tuesday, buoyed by a decline in oil prices as concerns regarding the Middle East conflict appeared to ease slightly, attributed to new diplomatic initiatives. The German market’s benchmark index DAX increased by 86.47 points, reflecting a rise of 0.35%, reaching a level of 24,948.14 around 12:15 PM.

  • Infineon Technologies experienced an increase of nearly 3%. Siemens Energy experienced an increase of 2.8%, whereas Rheinmetall, Daimler Truck Holding, and Hochtief saw gains ranging from 1.8% to 2%.
  • RWE, Deutsche Post, Commerzbank, and Fresenius Medical Care experienced an increase of 1% to 1.3%. Siemens, Heidelberg Materials, Bayer, Deutsche Bank, and MTU Aero Engines experienced an increase of 0.5% to 0.8%.
  • Scout24 experienced a decline of 2.5%. Munich RE experienced a decline of approximately 2.3%, whereas Hannover RE and Brenntag recorded losses of 2.2% and 2%, respectively.
  • Siemens Healthineers, Deutsche Boerse, SAP, Qiagen, Deutsche Telekom, GEA Group, and Symrise experienced declines ranging from 1% to 1.7%.

A report from the Centre for European Economic Research indicated that Germany’s ZEW Indicator of Economic Sentiment increased by 15.8 points to reach 26.3 in July, following a substantial 20.7-point rise in June and significantly surpassing market expectations of 18. The reading reached its peak since February.

Meanwhile, the ZEW Current Conditions in Germany rose to -77.60 points in July, an improvement from -81 points in June and surpassing forecasts of -77.8.
