Data indicating a decline in German consumer confidence for the month of October is exerting pressure on sentiment. The benchmark DAX experienced a decline of 37.91 points, reflecting a decrease of 0.16%, settling at 24,270.89 recently.

Symrise has experienced a decline of over 4% following a revision of its full-year organic growth forecast. Symrise AG reported third quarter revenue of 1.22 billion euros, a decrease from 1.26 billion euros last year, with an organic sales growth of 1.4%. The company updated its full-year organic growth outlook to 2.3%-3.3%, down from the prior outlook of 3.0%-5.0%, and reaffirmed its EBITDA margin outlook of approximately 21.5%. Symrise reaffirmed its mid-term targets for 2028, with an objective of achieving an organic growth rate of 5% to 7% CAGR, alongside an EBITDA margin projected to be between 21% and 23%.

Hannover Rueck, GEA Group, Scout24, Deutsche Boerse, BASF, Vonovia, Munich RE, SAP, Siemens Healthineers, and Brenntag have experienced declines ranging from 0.5% to 1%. Infineon Technologies is experiencing an increase of 1.85%. Fresenius, Merck, Deutsche Bank, RWE, Bayer, Deutsche Telekom, and MTU Aero Engines have experienced an increase ranging from 0.3% to 1%.

In November, German consumer confidence is anticipated to persist in its decline, driven by diminished income expectations, according to survey data released by NIQ/GfK in collaboration with the Nuremberg Institute for Market Decisions. The consumer climate indicator experienced an unexpected decline, dropping to -24.1 in November from a revised -22.5 in October. The score was anticipated to rise to -22.0. The reading has declined to its lowest point since April, reflecting ongoing geopolitical uncertainty and elevated inflation levels.
