Stock futures in Europe point to losses at the open on Thursday amid lack of progress in US stimulus talks and continuing concerns about mounting coronavirus infections in the continent. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin failed to announce a deal on a new aid bill on Wednesday and will speak again on Thursday, raising odds a deal before the presidential election in less than 2 weeks in unlikely. Investors will also keep an eye on the final debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden. On the coronavirus front, Spain and France hit 1 million infections. On the data front, German consumer confidence declined to the lowest since July and French business confidence also went down. Euro Area consumer morale is due later in the afternoon.
