DAX Futures Morning Update on 16 May 2019

The DAX Futures is trading at 12,060.50 with a loss of -0.34% percent or -41.50 point.The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 7,267.20 up with +0.11% percent or +8.20 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 5,292.80  with a loss of -1.51% percent or -81.20 point.  The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,344.00  with a loss of -0.27% percent or -9.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The DAX 30 printed a sizable move to the upside during Thursday’s session following reports that President Trump will delay his decision on whether or not to raise tariffs on auto imports into the United States. Trump is rumored to favor a delay on his verdict for up to 6 months per the Section 232 review process which allows the US to impose taxes (tariffs) on imported goods labeled as a threat to national security.

While markets reacted to the news quite positively, it remains unconfirmed by Trump himself or senior staff members of his administration. Although, speculation has built up in favor of the argument that President Trump is unlikely to wage a trade war on multiple fronts considering the US is already preoccupied with China trade talks breaking down and finalizing the pending USMCA deal with Canada and Mexico.

For the day Germany’s DAX closed at 12,074.81  with a loss of -0.20% percent or -24.10 point. the FTSE 100 closed at 7,279.86 with a loss of -0.23% percent or -17.09 point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 5,362.54  with a loss of -0.22% percent or -11.72 point.

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,648.02  up with +0.45% percent or +115.97    point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,850.96 up with +0.58% percent or +16.55 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,822.15 up with +1.13% percent or +87.65 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,062.98 with a loss of -0.59% percent or -125.58 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,341.68 up with +0.26% percent or +72.97   point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,955.71  up with +0.58% percent or +17.03 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,114.61  with a loss of -0.00073% percent or -0.27 point at 12:15 PM.
