DAX Futures Morning Update on 03 January 2018

The DAX Futures is trading at 10,480.50  with a loss of -0.74% percent or -78.00 point. The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 6,640.80  with a loss of -0.39% percent or -26.20 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 4,647.20  with a loss of -0.84% percent or -39.30  point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 2,954.50  with a loss of -1.32% percent or -39.50 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The ongoing global trade war has dampened economic growth and hurt investor confidence. With investors reading in their morning newspapers that equity markets suffered their worst year since 2008, risk apprehension remains high as we begin the New Year. However, one positive development in December was the announcement that U.S. and Chinese delegations are set to meet next week and tackle the trade issues that have sparked a serious rift between the world’s two largest economies. The talks are critical, as the U.S. has said that it will impose heavy tariffs on Chinese products on March 1, but agreed to suspend the move while talks are ongoing. Earlier in the week, President Trump said that ‘big progress’ had been made with China, but with the sides yet to meet face-to-face, the markets are not putting much stock in Trump’s remarks.

For the day Germany’s DAX closed at 10,580.19  up with +0.20% percent or +21.23 point. the FTSE 100 closed at 6,734.23 up with +0.091% percent or +6.10 point. France’s CAC  40 closed at 4,689.39  with a loss of -0.87% percent or -41.30 point.

For the day the Dow is trading at 23,346.24  up with +0.081% percent or +18.78 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,510.03  up with +0.13% percent or +3.18 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 6,665.94   up with +0.46% percent or +30.66 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 20,014.77   with a loss of -0.31% percent or -62.85 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 25,066.09  with a loss of -0.26% percent or -64.26 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,464.36  with a loss of -0.038% percent or  -0.93 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 35,686.24 with a loss of -0.58% percent or -207.41  point at 12:15 PM.
