DAX Futures Morning Update on 23 October

The DAX Futures is trading at 11,357.00  with a loss of   -1.39% percent or -160.50 point.The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 6,950.00  with a loss of  -1.01% percent or -71.00 point. The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 4,987.50 with a loss of  -1.24% percent or -62.50 point  The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,139.00  with  a loss of -1.35% percent or -43.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

London stocks started the week on a down note despite a weaker pound, albeit on the back of heightened political uncertainty, even as investors continued to ponder the risk of another leg lower on Wall Street.

Declines in the pound were fairly measured at present but, said David Cheetham, chief market analyst at XTB, the added uncertainty of the PM being ousted at such a critical time in Brexit negotiations could cause a swoon lower – particularly if May is replaced by former someone like Brexit secretary David Davis, who would likely push for a harder separation.

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,317.41 with  a loss of -0.50% percent or  -126.93  point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,755.88with a loss of  -0.43% percent or -11.90 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,468.63 up  with +0.26% percent or 1+9.60 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,010.78 with a loss of -2.67% percent or -604.04  point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 25,401.42  with a loss of -2.87% percent or -751.73 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,594.83  with  a loss of -2.26% percent or -60.05 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 33,997.15  with a loss of -0.40% percent or -137.23 point at 12:15 PM.
